Welcome to POCA's Home Page!

We are the Peoples Open Codex Alliance (POCA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in San Diego, California.

Our mission is to build and give away free, open-source software that lets Indigenous communities keep their whole culture (stories, language, calendar, land knowledge, ceremony, and well-being resources) on low-cost hardware and removable storage that the community physically owns. Nothing is uploaded to any cloud, because the software has nowhere to upload it. Read our full MISSION statement.

Our programs include a suite of eight Android applications named in Indigenous languages, a community-owned content card (the PAC), an on-device assistant that answers without an internet connection, language preservation tools, and the revival of discarded tablets as cultural devices. See PROGRAMS for full descriptions.

Our EIN (Charity ID) is 41-5358938.
Our address is 1111 6th Ave, Ste 550 #257606, San Diego, CA 92101.

Our design-forward public site lives at https://poca.org. This site (projectpoca.org) is the organization's official record. Both domains are owned and operated by the Peoples Open Codex Alliance.
