Leadership

The Peoples Open Codex Alliance is governed by its three founding members.

	Aspen Stiqayuʔ Founding Member and President Aspen Stiqayuʔ, of Coastal Salish heritage, serves as President of the Alliance. Aspen guides the organization's direction and holds it to its first responsibility: that POCA is built with communities, not for them. The President carries the Alliance's relationships with the communities it serves and answers to them for every promise the software makes.
	Taylor Holt Founding Member and Treasurer Taylor Holt, of Mixtec and Cherokee heritage, is a financial analyst and holds an MBA. As Treasurer, Taylor keeps the Alliance's books, oversees its required filings, and maintains the fiscal controls that keep a small nonprofit durable. Taylor also guards the organization's standing promise: the software is free of charge to communities, and nothing is ever sold.
	C.G. Albertoli Founding Member and Product Designer C.G. Albertoli designed the POCA application suite and the PAC, the community-owned card the whole system is built around, and leads the work of bringing donated and recycled tablets back to life as cultural devices. The design brief behind every screen is the same: the machine belongs to the People holding it.

Governance

POCA is governed as a California nonprofit public benefit corporation with federal EIN 41-5358938. The organization accepts no payment for its software, holds no user data, and licenses all of its code to the public under the Apache 2.0 license.
